Solange Brown MD PhD, Assistant Professor
Current lab members
Juhyun Kim PhD, Postdoctoral fellow
Juhyun received his Ph.D. from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Korea. He was awarded a National Research Foundation of Korea Postdoctoral Fellowship when he joined the lab in 2011. Juhyun is interested in the functional organization of cortical projection neurons and in the cellular and circuit changes underlying the neurodegeneration of these neurons in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Kihwan Lee PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow
Kihwan received his Ph.D. from Seoul National University. He joined the lab in the fall of 2014. Kihwan is interested in the functional organization of neurons in the infragranular cortex and the cortical white matter and how they modulate sensory processing
Chanel Matney, Graduate student
Chanel is interested in the functional organization of cortical circuits, particularly the deep layers of the cortex, and joined the lab in 2012. Chanel graduated from the University of Texas. After joining the lab, Chanel received a National Science Foundation Fellowship in 2013. Prior to that, she received a Turock Award.
Maxime Chevée, Graduate Student
Maxime is in the BCMB graduate program. Maxime graduated from the University of California - Berkeley. He joined the lab in the fall of 2015.

Aaron is an undergraduate student in the Department of Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins.
Cooper Grossman, Graduate Student
Cooper is a first year student in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at Johns Hopkins.
Lainey Bukowiec, Undergraduate student
Lainey is an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins who joined the Brown Lab in 2015. She has been focusing on the cellular and circuit changes seen in the neurodegenerative disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Austin Coye, Undergraduate student
Austin is an undergraduate student in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins. She is interested in neuropsychiatric diseases like schizophrenia and how changes in cortical circuits contribute to abnormal cognition.
Dohee Kim, Undergraduate student
Dohee is an undergraduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins. Her work is focused on the cellular and circuit changes seen in the neurodegenerative disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
